I think that this photo I took of a fountain is my most successful image for this assignment. I used this photo for the symmetry category, as the fountain is framed on both sides by a diamond, while the centerpiece itself is symmetrical. Even the background of the conservatory is symmetrical, neatly bisected by the fountain. The only thing that isn't symmetrical is the water in fountain, which makes the photo more visually interesting.

The most challenging aspect of this assignent were the lighting challenges. There were very few areas in which I could completely control the lighting, so it was difficult to isolate just one type of light.

In the future I will make sure to try several different angles of one shot before deciding which one to use, as some of my photos could have been improved if I had used different angles.

"I really like your black and white photo of the flower. The lack of color allows the viewer to see the symmetry of the petals, and because you were so close to the flower, I can also see all of the tiny details which are very visually interesting. To edit this I would suggest making the flower more centered to really hit the symmetry, but all of the details, from the stamens to the water droplets are clear and beautiful. - Olivia Campbell"

I think that this is also your strongest image. I wish I could take photos this well. The diamond surrounding the fountain creates a perfect sense of symmetry, also exactly symmetrical. I also really like the blurred-out background of the massive building, it adds a sense of world building, and it looks great! - Anthony LoCascio

I agree that your symmetry photo is very strong, I also tremendously enjoyed your side lighting photo. To me it feels reminiscent of Dorothea Lange. Your subject seems to have a certain desire and urge to create. It also works very well because it tells two sides of a story: The photographer taking a picture through the fence and the photo you used for symmetry is their final product. While LightRoom and color correction are much more than what the assignment requires I would be very interested in seeing how you can push the picture further.
