"Hi Ashley! I enjoyed your presentation as I not only learned a lot about the photos themselves, but I also learned a lot about the photographer. Photography can be used in many different ways, and your presentation opened my eyes to the idea that a photographer can use their influence to uplift other photographers. The photos I chose for my assignment were also primarly shot in black and white and focused on disadvantaged communities but an interesting difference is that your photographer framed the people as resiliant while bringing attention to issues, whereas my photographer focused on preserving a cultures way of life."

Hi Olivia! I really loved your presentation and found myself so drawn to Lorenzetti’s work through your presentation. The two black and white photos you included of his stood out to me right away especially since I did my presentation on Mary Ellen Mark. Her photography also relies a lot on black and white, and I noticed that both she and Lorenzetti use it to bring out strong emotion and a deeper feeling in their images. I do also really like the black and white photos. There has always been something about B&W photos that evoke such a raw and primal emotions. While his style is not something that I would attempt to replicate there is a lot that can be learned from his photos. Such as framing in composition and subject choice.
I enjoyed your presentation! I don't think there's anything that could or should have changed. In addition to your descriptions of the photos, providing the composition, color, and lighting helped me better grasp what the photos were trying to convey. Lorenzetti's works' make evoke my sense of curiosity and amazement, especially with the first plant/flower photo and the waterfall. Though they are in black and white, it doesn't take away from the detail, and the waterfall specifically makes me want to experience it the landscape with my own eyes. The photograph with the casino sign, porta-potty, and and church was quite puzzling to me at first, but the more I looked at it, and you providing descriptions, it made m…
